-- Revamped CNL Securities site also provides FAs with practice management resources --

(ORLANDO, Fla.) Feb. 6, 2013 — CNL Securities has launched a new website to provide resources about alternative investments, especially non-traded real estate investment trusts (REITs) and business development companies (BDCs), to investors and financial advisors. The new site is available at www.CNLSecurities.com

The site includes materials cleared for investor use that advisors can utilize to explain the role that non-traded REITs and BDCs can play in a portfolio. For example, it includes a video overview about what a BDC is, informational pieces on private debt as an investment class and other information that investors and advisors can both use to better understand this kind of investment offering. There are also resources related to the offerings CNL Securities distributes, with downloadable forms for each offering. New educational content will be added to the site each month.

“Our goal is to provide information that helps advisors and investors sort through the increasing number of choices they have in the alternative investments sphere,” said Jeff Shafer, president of CNL Securities. “We know that investors have a wide variety of objectives depending on their age, risk tolerance and other factors. We want to make sure financial advisors have the tools they need when considering how REITs and BDCs could potentially meet those goals.”

Education – A Top Priority

CNL Securities has made educating investors and financial advisors a top priority. Additionally, advisors frequently turn to investment program distributors for information. CNL Securities’ new site provides financial advisors materials that they can use with investors to help them understand REITs and BDCs and the kinds of assets on which those offerings focus.

Easy Access – No Login Required

There is no login needed to view the website’s educational resources. This allows investors to easily access these resources, and financial advisors to quickly and conveniently share them with their clients through a variety of electronic tools.

Beyond investment information, the new site also brings CNL Securities’ extensive library of practice management material to advisors. There are overviews of practice management workshops and the benefits each provides to financial advisors.
