-- Shopping center to hold Christmas event on Dec. 7 and Dec. 8 --

(CHARLOTTE, N.C.)  Dec. 5, 2012 — CNL Crosland Commercial Real Estate has signed two new tenants for the upscale Blakeney shopping center in south Charlotte.

Riley Rose Boutique, a trendy juniors fashion store, opened on Nov. 23. The 1,196-square-foot store sells affordable fashions from New York and Los Angeles. Jodi Poyntz, a graduate of Fashion Institute of Technology, who has more than 18 years of experience in the industry working as a buyer, product manager and seller, owns Riley Rose Boutique.

“I felt like there was a void in this market for a store with the fashions we offer at a reasonable price,” said Poyntz, who recently moved to Charlotte. “I am excited to have opened at Blakeney and feel my store complements the current retailers at the center.”

Kids’ Club, an hourly childcare provider, is scheduled to open in early 2013. It will occupy 1,063 square feet. Kids’ Club will be open six days a week from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. It is owned by Tricia Cotham, who represents N.C. House District 100 in the General Assembly. She has also worked as a middle school and high school teacher and assistant principal.

Gwen Glaeser, vice president with CNL Crosland Commercial Real Estate, represented the ownership of Blakeney in both transactions.

“Both Riley Rose Boutique and Kids’ Club are great additions to the diverse mix of boutique shops and services at Blakeney,” Glaeser said.

To help celebrate the season, Blakeney will be holding a special holiday event on Dec. 7 and Dec. 8 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The event features a visit from Santa Claus and his friends, free carriage rides, crafts for children, cookies and hot chocolate. It is free and open to the public.
